Pride and Prejudice

By Jane Austen

"So this is your opinion of me. Thank you for explaining so fully. Perhaps these offences might have be overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my honesty..." - Mr. Darcy

"Count your blessings Lizzie. If he liked you, you'd have to talk to him." - Charlotte Lucas

"It's a great opportunity to meet new people. In fact, when you met us, we'd just had the pleasure of forming a new acquaintance."
- Elizabeth Bennet

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

"I have no wish of denying that I did every thing in my power to separate my friend from your sister, or that I rejoice in my success. Towards him I have been kinder than towards myself" 4

"How despicably have I acted!' she cried. - 'I, who have prided myself on my discernment! - I, who have valued myself on my abilities!." 6

"The Bennets were speedily pronounced to be the luckiest family in the world, though only a few weeks before, when Lydia had first run way, they had been generally proved to be marked out for misfortune" 9

The Explanations

Quote one: This quote is pretty much saying that this is really what you think of me. Well if you dont like it then you dont have to deal with it. But thanks for being so honest. Thats why i chose this quote, it's because I like it when people are honest with me and don't lie to me. I hate when people lie to me. It's useless. If people really want to talk to you, then they will get over the fact that you're not perfect and have many flaws. You pretty much wouldn't be human if you didn't have any flaws.

Quote two: What this quote is saying is that since you don't like him, thank god he doesn't like you because if he did then he would want to talk to you. You wouldn't have to talk back, but that's what a person who likes them does. But since she says she doesn't like him, it's a good thing he doesn't like her. So it's her luck that he doesn't like her, because she doesn't want to talk to him. I chose this quote because this is pretty mych sayin something like that if you don't like someone and they annoy you, then it's a good thing that they don't talk to you because then you would get all annoyed.

Quote three: Quote three is saying that meeting new people is a great opportunity and it's also a great thing to meet to people and become more socialized. That way you're not stuck in a place and just sit there all by yourself and not say anything to anyone or not do anything with anyone. So if we just met, it would be a pleasure and we would form a new acquaintance. That means that we would be friends but we wouldn't be like best friends until we hung out and talked more and more.

Video one: I chose this video because it is pretty much a preview of everything that happens in the book. The preview is the important main ideas. This shows a lot of things and thats also why i pretty much chose it. It shows that if you also don't really understand the book, you could also watch the movie but the movie isn't as good as the book.

Video two: I chose this video because it shows when Mr. Darcy and Miss Bennet at walking and they share their feelings to each other. Then they decide to get married and he proposes to her. But it's not like an original proposal you would think that the people these days do it. They just pretty much say their feels and then decide to get married. Then she tells her sister and she doesn't believe her and then she finally does and they are all happy. It shows that even if you might not know that you like a person at first, you can always grow to like them.
